2 What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user’s device, where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same websites on the next visit. They may be installed by the website owner (first-party cookies) or by third parties (third-party cookies). Similar technologies (e.g. pixels, web beacons, local storage) are subject to the same rules.

4 Cookies used by the website

The website is built on WordPress (with the Elementor page builder and the WPML multilingual plugin), with servers located in the European Union, and adopts the CookieYes consent management platform. The cookies listed below were detected on the website: first-party technical cookies are always active, while Google Analytics 4 analytics cookies are installed only with prior consent.

CookieType / originPurposeDuration
cookieyes-consentTechnical — CookieYes (first-party)Stores the consent preferences expressed by the user for the cookie categories (necessary, functional, analytics, performance, marketing)1 year
_icl_current_language (wp-wpml_current_language)Technical — WPML (first-party)Stores the language selected by the user (detected value: «it»)Session

For users who log in to the Reserved Area only, WordPress also installs technical authentication and preference cookies (e.g. wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wp-settings-*), which are not present for non-authenticated users.

Google Analytics and data transfer. The analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) belong to Google Analytics 4 and are activated only after consent given through CookieYes. Their use may involve the transfer of data to Google LLC (USA), governed by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and by Google’s adherence to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. No third-party advertising or marketing cookies were detected. The website also loads Google Fonts: this does not involve cookies but results in a connection to Google’s servers with transmission of the IP address; local hosting is recommended to minimise this.

5 Consent management

On first access to the website, a banner is shown allowing the user to accept, reject or customise non-necessary cookies. Technical cookies are installed regardless of consent, as they are essential to the functioning of the website. The user may change their choices at any time by recalling the preferences panel.

Consent banner (managed via CookieYes). On first access the website shows, through the CookieYes platform, a banner with the following sample content:
«This website uses technical cookies necessary for its functioning and, with consent, analytics and third-party cookies to improve the browsing experience. You can accept all cookies, reject non-necessary ones or customise your preferences. For more information see the Cookie Policy.» — buttons: Accept all · Reject non-necessary · Customise.

6 Managing cookies via the browser

The user may also manage or disable cookies through their browser settings:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies;
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security;
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions;
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy.

Disabling technical cookies may compromise the proper functioning of the website.

7 Data subject’s rights and contacts

The user may exercise the rights provided for in Articles 15-22 of the GDPR and withdraw at any time the consents given, by writing to dpo@halcyoninsurancespa.it. For details of the processing, retention periods and the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, please refer to the website’s Privacy Policy.

8 Updates to the Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated, including as a result of regulatory changes or changes to the services used. Updated versions are published on this page with the relevant date of the last update.
